Do You Have Household Waste But Cant Be Bothered With The Rubbish Dump?
More than just rubbish – The story of two ex army officers and the British Battalion they’ve created it not only a phenomenal feat, this is a story that should be shared.
Chris Hartley an Officer in the Grenadier Guards until and Dickon Leigh-Wood an Officer in the Blues and Royals have both had their fair share in both Iraq and Afghanistan yet their passion for humanity is both odd yet massively compelling from seeing casualties and deaths to providing jobs for leaving military personnel. Their drive and commitment wanting to help as many veterans as possible is one of the most admirable things I’ve come across. It hasn’t been an idea floating around the Officers’ Mess whilst having tea and toast; they have given themselves orders and acted upon them.
Dickon Leigh-Wood an Officer in the Blues and Royals for 9 years and although his paid military career is over, his passion for the British Army and the Professionalism by which it operates has transferred across to life in chivvy street. The average person wouldn’t necessarily think coupling Environmental Biology and the Professionalism of the British Army together. What is clear though, Dickon and Chris are not average people.
Before inviting The Good Rubbish Company on the podcast I thought it would last for around 3 minutes. I mean seriously what could possibly be interesting about Waste Removal?
30 minutes later and we had wrapped. Who they are as people, what they stand for and why and where they get passions from was enthralling. I’m now embarrassed and at the same time privileged to have a chance to experienced just a little of what this team has achieved so far.
